Always nice to see Old Boy and this time pleasure
was even greater because I had a chance to see it on the big screen. It was part
of a little festival that Raid’s director Gareth Evans put together here in
Dublin.
It’s of course one of the best revenge
movies of the recent years, surpassed only by its successor Lady Vengeance. And
even if you are a bit weird and not into this kind of stuff, you must admit how
fresh and inventive it is. And gag with dotted line going from the hammer to
that poor bastard’s forehead is just hilarious and I’ll never forget the WTF
feeling when I first saw it.
Should stop now because you never know when
you talk too much. Maybe Mr. Park will kidnap me and put away for 15 years!
